1uz V8

http://www.facebook.com/V8Rx8
Hello guys..
I am almost done with my 1UZFE VVTi RX-8 project which all started when i decided to go for something terribly fast! sold my Accord CL-9, had many options in my mind but i wanted something that by looks can match with the power i was about to put in it and to me RX-8 was the best option.
Searched for an RX-8 with dead engine but to no use. At last, ended up buying a top of the line RX-8 running on its original rotary engine with tiptronic transmission, leather/electronic seats, Bose surround sound/navigation system, Mazda 18" wheels, Mazda aero-kit and the most appealing Brilliant Black color.

Now coming to the project,
Me and my friend Mir Yaseen gave a real hard work deciding which engine will be most suitable for our project.Some time back we did home work on swapping 1UZFE in some other vehicle, compared it with many other high performance engines and found it to be the best engine for its price and availability, the torque and power it produces and is also lighter in weight so this engine was still the first priority, searched the web and found that many people on different forums have discussed the feasibility of swapping this engine in RX8 but no body had ever tried doing this, many people wrote that its not possible to do so as the space in engine bay is not sufficient to digest 1UZFE in it (Only V8 swap ever done was General Motor's LS1 but no 1UZFE).We started this project and convinced our experienced, trustworthy and hardworking Mechanic for this swap and he gave his consent that he will try his level best.We searched for the engine and found only three 1UZFE VVTi here.Picked the best one which was like new in condition and was unloaded from container the same day we bought it.Mechanic worked with dedication and finally made this dream come true.
It needed a few alterations in the engine bay but everything went pretty well, Crossmember and Balance rod were also customized upto the new requirements and available space.

Thankfully,Its the first RX-8 with a V8 in Pakistan
and evidently the first 1UZ RX-8 of the world!

Its now the mixture of a Lexus engine and the Rx8 so we gave this project the name "LX8"
Now, hoping for the completion of swap with in a week or two and feeling impatient to hear V8 roaring in my Black Stallion!

I'll post more engine bay pics after project completion.

I don't know what has happened to engine bay liner.It must be ill-treated while servicing previously.

wow great job afzal tareen .... looked at your thread on pakwheels , good going awesome project .... i have myself swaped successfully sr20det, 1jzgte and 1jzge in an rx8 but never thought that a v8 rx8 could be realistically possible (too wide??) .... i saw in the pics you posted that the engine is covering your break survey, your ABS lines are jumbled up a bit , radiator fluid bottle would be a hard fit, dont see the water bottle for viper .... hope everything goes smooth (they never do in my case) and we see a v8 rx8 ripping the tarmac in pakistan

@godesshunter
I have many detailed pictures when the work was in progress,i'll post'em!

@TeamRX8
You are right.

@doc.tarzan
Thanks for liking it.
Had been watching many of your threads on pakwheels for a long time now and i remember your car and the swaps you had
This engine had many advantages over JZ engines so i thought giving it a try and thankfully everything went well although not very smooth obviously as it was a huge conversion but everything has now been tackled with and the car is almost ready to roll.
That pic is quiet old, radiator fluid bottle had also been installed easily(My mechanic got a slim bottle that could sit well in the available space), washer fluid's bottle will also be installed at the space available near ABS line.I'll post fresh pics after getting the engine bay cleaned.
You will see it soon be hitting the roads

Nice to see another 1UZ Rx8 under process.Share if you have any other info on that.

The engine in that pic is sat more close to the chassis wall, must needed to cut a part from chassis to make it fit and brake booster is also changed.Lets see if there remains any place for the strut bar or not.
