WTB Rx-8

WTB Rx-8
I cannot create a post in the main WTB section yet but have been looking to buy myself a good condition 8 for a few years, and I think that now is almost the right time. I am looking for a 2010 (or 2011 if its exceptional) GT or R3 in black our blue and may consider silver. The biggest points for me is that the car must be low mileage, one owner, and have no accidents. If you have one, let me know and maybe we can work out a deal but please know the value of your car before contacting me. Use sources such as kbb.com or nada.com to find out the value if you are unaware. I would have to sell my car before I could make a purchase so please be flexible with timing as well.

Yes, I have already looked. I actually almost bought one a little while ago; however, it got sold right out from under me. None of the ones currently on there spark my interest. Thanks for sending the link though.

Is one owner really that important? I am the third owner of mine and received it in mint condition.
1. Nick Saban for 4000 miles
2. School teacher who decided he couldn't afford it for 5000 miles
3. Me.

I've got mine up for sale and I've got a bite locally, but... Mine gives me 3 owners, me being 4th with some minor accidents. Say what you will for what the guys before me may have neglected, but from everything I can tell oil changes were done on time and it got an Italian tune up at least a few times.
If I couldn't use the money, I wouldn't sell it. However, I could, so I will.

Yep. He special ordered it, and it was one of the last 6 on the boat to the US. He quickly traded it for a Porsche at Park Place in Dallas. School teacher bought it and drove it for 5 months, found out his wife was pregnant, and sold it to me for $20K, when it was still under 1 year old. I'm not a college football fan, so it is little more than an interesting anecdote to me.

I know to most people multiple owners is fine but it is just personal preference that I hope to find one with only one previous owner. Not to say cars with multiple owners are neglected, I just want the ideal 8 for me.

I believe that, compared to ordinary cars, the RX-8 is far more susceptible to regular owner neglect. (Remember that most 8 owners who have somewhat neglected proper maintenance - extending or skipping routine oil changes, checking oil level, revving high, etc. - don't think they've abused their cars, as ordinary cars can take this sort of casual neglect without serious ill effects.)
So, for me, multiple owners greatly increases the probability of engine problems - unless, of course, you have good, detailed and trustworthy owner maintenance records.

I am aware, but if there is nothing available, I have no rush to sell my car. If someone approaches me with one, then I will have a reason to sell my car quicker. Plus I am willing to pay what a car is worth, often people who look to sell their cars have to worry about low-ball offers among other things that just make them hesitant to sell.
