Why does this area get so heated?
Why does this area get so heated?

Just curious on this one. The car has an iPhone charger built in to the seat heaters and it plays music through the CD option. That little hole where the charger goes in, the spot down at the E-brake, and pretty much the whole cup holder section always gets super hot when driving. Not sure if its normal or what?
Yeah, it's normal. 8s have coffee warmers, not cupholders.
8s have really hot exhaust under normal conditions.
When cats go bad, the car may even catch fire.
Ignition health is very important to avoid that.
Be sure your cat is not glowing. Easier to see at night after a drive.

If not, be sure you have no misfires, or you may have to replace your new cat soon also.
Not yet. I've already put over $1500 into since I got it. And sadly I wrecked it last week. Damage estimate from insurance is $2022. So as soon as it gets out of the shop ima do all that **** under the hood
Yep mine too! I was thinking new cat. I'll drive the hell outta BB (I call mine the black b*tch as my wife is already jealous of the time and affection I show it and called it that.) at nite and check for glowing. I think all my ignition stuff was just done.

I have not known of one that actually caught fire. There isn't anything to burn there. Any cat working properly can get hot enough to ignite a secondary source.
*I think I meant 'they' as in 8s.
o_O?

Does that sound more accurate?
If I'm still wrong, I'll delete it.
