Why can I only post threads here above

The text above in red "why can I only post threads here" links to uploading a photo explained not the reason why you can only post threads here?

Why can I only create threads here?

To reduce the amount of spam, scam, and newbie bashing on the forum, in May of 2013 a New Member subforum was implemented, and a restriction placed on all new members.

This restriction prevents any member from creating threads outside of the New Member subforum until they have at least 10 posts AND more than 30 days since signing up.

You are still able to reply to threads everywhere else on the site, you just can't create them yourself.

NOTE:
FOR SALE and WANT TO BUY Threads are NOT permitted in the New Member subforum just because you can't post in the Classifieds. Yes, this is intentional. Yes, this means that we could be inconveniencing you significantly. If you joined only to sell stuff, you are going to have to wait a month and become a participating member FIRST if you want to sell to the broader rx8club audience.

However since Local sales are usually done in person there is much less chance for fraud on the part of the buyer or seller. So, for New Members you may post your for sale item in the For Sale/WTB of the Regional section for your locale. These must be for local pickup only. This gives you a chance to sell your part locally, a way to start participating in the forum and meet the other rx8 owners in your region.

WARNING:
Spamming the forum with posts just to jump to 10 posts is not only against the forum rules, but will not be successful. We will delete any posts we see from a member that is just spamming his or her way to 10 posts. Continuing to attempt it will result in administrator action.
Reaching 10 posts quickly is also not going to help if you haven't been here for at least 30 days. You still need to meet both criteria.

NOTE:
The system can take an hour or so to catch up AFTER your first log off / log on, so if you hit 10 posts and are past 30 days, don't expect it to suddenly lift the restriction. Log off, go have lunch or dinner, and come back, it will probably be lifted by then. This is also true if you exceed the restriction points and this is your first log-on since May of 2013.

If it just won't lift after 24hrs and at least one log-off/log-on, then PM Omicron or Zoom44.

NOTE:
If you have been a member for years, and just don't have the posts yet, you may be able to have the restriction lifted manually by an Admin.

Mod Edit The forum banner has changed very recently...and we haven't had time to go through everything and make sure it is all perfect

Please try and make yourself an asset instead of a PIA

What do you want to start a thread about? If you start it in the new member forum it will get attention also. And if it is relevant the mods can move it elsewhere.

These guys have better things to do then chase around old links and information randomly around the site that has become outdated.

I'm going to be driving home for the next while. Can someone instruct this guy in how to scroll down and how to read thoroughly? Since he has been linked the new member info three times, copy and pasted once, and still obviously hasn't really read it. I bet he is just skimming it briefly.

I'm trying to be patient, but i think i'm failing.

Agreed that the annoucements not linking to individual posts is a problem. There isn't a solution i'm aware of in the forum software, but will try to clean it up a bit when i get home. The scroll bar should still work though...

If he honestly is being blocked from creating a thread in the europe regional subforum, then there is an issue to troubleshoot since he would be the first one saying he can't in almost 2 years. Perhaps he is clicking the wrong thing?

IF you read the copy'd text I pasted above...the # is 10 posts and a time period of 30 days....

Please try and help us out...you are making things difficult and you may reduce our options

Calm down folks, i simply said the links at the top of the newbie forum link to a page showing you how to upload photos, not the instructions as stated....
regarding time period, I have been a member since october 2014
This is helpful for all new members joining, so when they click on it they get the information needed. I appreciate they are new banners and not updated yet (thanks for info)
I got a bloody great ribbing for not reading the info (prior to post look below) and if I had read the info linked it wouldnt have been such a pain in the ***..
how many posts now?

I moved the large picture uploader instruction set to a dedicated thread and replaced the annoucement with an individual link. It appears that the forum will provide direct links to global annoucements, but subform specific annoucements will list all active annoucements in order of most recent to least recent, including the global annoucements that apply.

Still looking for a way past that.
