It has red and black leather interior and a 6 disc changer,heated seats,6 speed,hids,apperance package. Thats all i know lol. All the other rx8s i see around me only have one little vent on the fender and mine has two...

 

Near as I can tell, based on what you listed, it is probably a Grand Touring (GT) or, at the least, a Touring. If it has a moonroof and power everything, then it is a GT.

 

Use the VIN tool in the header under Tools and you will find out exactly what you have.

So as of this morning my car wont start!!!! It ran fine last night! So far i have taken out the plugs and cleaned them and i tried to start it and nothing!!!! I pulled them out again and nothing but carbon build up all over them!! Plz tell me what to do!!!!!!!

 

Are they soaked in gas?

 

Ive taken the plugs out and i cleaned them all. Well i put them back in and it still wont start. I take the pligs back out and the two top plugs are fine and when i take the bottoms out they are covered in black gunk and gas....PLEASE HELP!! SHES MY DAILY!!!

 

Ive also disconnected the exhaust from the manifold and tried starting it and still nothing. Ive found a bunch of carbon cleaning process but my car wont start at all. So my question is how do i get the carbon out without the car running? Should i spray carb cleaner inside the sparkplug holes?

 

First off, when you say you cleaned the plugs, did you use anything abrasive, like a wire brush? Doing that will probably damage the iridium coating on the electrode. Also, while you had them out, did you carefully check the gap? While cleaning them, you may have disturbed the gap setting. Have you checked the ignition wires to make certain you got them back on tight and in the right order?

If all of this checks out OK, try the deflood procedure to see if you can get it running ( there will be oodles of info on that procedure here). Just do a site search using the term "deflood" and make certain you follow the directions carefully, especially the part about using another, running vehicle's power to supplement your car's battery power to avoid killing the battery.

 

I have a trickle charger thats helping me out with keeping the battery charged and yes i did use a silver wire brush on the plugs.i have donr the deflood process bunches of times.its like im not getting fire. And also my DSC or tarction control light and abs light is flashing fast while trying to start it.i appreciate all the info Mysterion! I just hope i can get her runnin.

 

A trickle charger will keep the battery up under no-load conditions, but for deflood, I (along with Mazda) would highly recommend hooking up to another vehicle that is kept running while yo attempt to start. The amount of current the starter will draw will quickly outstrip what the trickle charger can replace. If you use a running vehicle as the supplemental power source, you will get better cranking speed and be able to repeat the attempt as many times as needed to get the car running without extended wait times between attempts. Those extended wait times between attempts, combined with reduced cranking speed could just result in flooding it worse.

 

Ok that thanks!!! That makes alot of sense! Ive already had to recharge my battery twice! Lol. Also my car happens to have all trailing plugs in it. I drove the car like this for a month now and the only thing i could was that it lagged alot in top end. But it still started... i have tried EVERYTHING! Except for hooking up another vehicle while trying to start it. As soon as i can get a biddy to help me i will! Im tired of walking to work

 

Its alive again!!! I took out my lead plugs and squirted Marvel Mystery Oil into the spark plug holes as someone lightly bumped my starter..
Then i put new lead plugs into it and hooked up jumper cables to a buddys car and started cranking...took about 15 minutes of trying and finally it gave up ans started and it looked like a Cypress Hill concert!!!! Im so happy that my RX8 is running again!!! It just makes me wonder how many people have thrown away their cars bcuz they didnt know what was going on! I just wanna thank everyone that had input on this and thank RX8club for all the helpful threads about this!!!
