I am wondering about this black box that broke off of my engine wiring harness. It is in the same group on the harness as the fuel injector connectors.
It is connected to a single wire, and looks like it just grounds out. If it is only a ground, can I just extend the wire and ground it that way?
What is the purpose of the box?
It's the ignition coil condenser. It's a filter used to reduce electrical noise introduced by the ignition coils. The black box is a capacitor, the black wire is +12v so don't ground it as you'll cause a short to ground and pop the 15A engine fuse.
