What to buy?
Hey guys. I'm from New Zealand and am currently debating purchasing my first rx8. I've spent enough time scouring this forum that my head hurts but now I have a personal opinion question.
I have several options I'm looking at and I'm wondering if you could help me make a decision on whice one.
All 6 mt
1: 2007 series 1. Immaculate condition. Bright red with cream leather interior. 88000km on the clock. Stock standard. $13000nzd
2: 2008 series 2. Immaculate condition. 65000km, aftermarket exhaust otherwise standard. Blue with half black leather interior.$19800
3: 2004 series 1. Immaculate condition. 45000km. Standard. Black cloth interior. Gunmetal Grey. $15000.
Personally I'm leaning towards the 07. From what I've read the series 2 should have alot more reliability but I can't see any proof to back this up. Has anyone put some real kms on one yet? Also I love the look of both. Favor the series 1 slightly but am happy with either.
Unfortunately in NZ almost all are imporated and we don't get the warranty that you do in the US so please keep that in mind.
Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would get the 2007. I haven't read anything conclusive that says the series 2 is more reliable in some way. Nearly all their changes were cosmetic. Also, the aftermarket exhaust is a sign that it may have been driven harder than the others. I'm not a big fan of the cream interior in the 2007 (mostly just because it's harder to clean), but I would take it over the base-model cloth interior. Plus, if I remember right, the packages that included leather have other upgraded goodies, as well.

Life After 8K RPM....
07 it is..
But most important factor in deciding will be the compression score and overall condition of the car. 04 is seems too expensive for that price.
All the best
