I recently purchased 2 used smart keys from a seller (quite reputable it seems) on Ebay. I took them to my Mazda dealership and they attempted to program them, but said the machine kept giving a reading that the keys were already programmed to another car. I was wondering has anyone had any luck with having used keys reprogrammed for their vehicle either via dealership or locksmith; or can they truly not be reprogrammed? Is there something that the dealership did wrong or does anyone have any suggestions on how to clear the old programming out of the key.

 

I need to order new smart keys soon. I hope I don't encounter this problem as I will probably buy used off ebay. Email Mazdausa They are usually really good about answering back(within2-3days) with correct answers.
