UPDATE: Still need help

Hello everyone I have a 05 shinka AT with 101,000 on original engine (ours is the 13B right).

I changed the sparkplugs, wires, coils, seafoamed, new oil and filter, and new air filter. Same problem keeps happening.

When i start my car it idles at 1000 rpm then automatically stalls out it does this when first started but is more prone when i have driven 5+ miles then come to a stop at a light or sign.

I plan on replacing the cat with a midpipe next paycheck but not sure if this is the problem i know it only takes about an hour to drop the cat and look but i dont have the time right now.

What else could it be compression check says seals are fine.

Check and clean your MAF, Throttle Body, Air Filter ... if it's still there after that ... do a vacuum leak test and check your o2 sensors and Connections.

Greetings
Thomas

The simplest things are cleaning the MAF and the ESS. It does sound allot like a clogged cat though.

Do you have a CEL?

No CEL.

Which is why I'm confused on the matter. It's not throwing codes.

I've cleaned the MAF, haven't checked the throttle body. I've changed the air filter when I did the update on maintenance.

How do I check for vacuum leaks?

Could be the throttle body...it does the idle airflow management

Do you have any way to swap it with another one to test?

Have you reset the ECU?

also check out the fuel pump, worth a try. additionally, there is a line on the intake that feeds the engine air at low speeds, try spraying throttle body cleaner down that line (just do the two lines if you cant find out which is which. obviously the third line goes to the oil filler neck and doesnt need to be cleaned that way)

has a test been performed for vacuum leaks?

Got some throttle body cleaner from a friend today, will clean it tomorrow.

Which intake lines? A picture with some red arrows or circles would be helpful.

A vacuum leak test has not been performed.

How would I go about checking for a vacuum leak.

Reset the ECU with the 20 brake stomp when I replaced the battery.

Here's a bit more information, that I don't think has anything to do with the problem.

It didn't start doing this until one night about two months ago when my mom went out to search for our shared emergency cell phone to take with her on her way to the clinic the next day and left my over head light on. It ran the battery dead. After re-charging and doing the 20 brake stomp it I drove it to the local store with no problem. When I went to get back in and start, it started then died right away, started it again, it died again. Started it again, kept it revved high, and quick shifted in between gears as the rpms dropped.

I'm hoping it's something as simple as the throttle body is clogged. I will leave a giant red palm print on my face if it is, but at least I won't have a bald spot from scratching my head some more.

Perform the 20 brake stomp reset again.
Start the car let it idl. Don't rev the engine, if you feel its going to die then crank the AC to max it will keep the idle higher. I think your ecu needs to re-learn the fuel trims..
