Update on the coolant leak!!!!!!!!!!

So I got my car to the dealer finally yesterday around 3:00 pm and when I pulled in I saw 4 red Rx-8's like mine which totally makes me feel so much better. How about NOT!!!! So I went and talked to the service guys and they said tops that it would cost me $125 to do the pressure test come Monday at 1:30 so I will keep you guys updated and tell you what the problem cause the massive leak was.

You shouldn't start a new thread to update another one.
People won't know what the original problem was.

Update

So I'm pretty sure it's the freeze plug or plugs cause as soon as I pour coolant into the resivore it pours right out and it's leaking in front of the tranny

You're not giving enough info.

Freeze plug? What the heck is a freeze plug? Plugs? The spark plugs are behind the front left wheel, on the left side of the engine block. My guess is you have a busted hose somewhere, and when it drips down, it takes a path that's close to the tranny and hits the floor. DO NOT try to start the car. You need to get that leak fixed. Find out where the leak exactly is. Pour water into the reservoir and watch the coolant hoses carefully. Check around the radiator. Check for coolant stains.

Let us know what happens.

There is a engine coolant drain plug on the same side as the coils, could be that. But yeah, don't jump to conclusions lol, find the leak!

Freezeplugs don't just fail, and if somehow there is a gap in one it would seep, not leak in volume.

So freeze plug means coolant drain plug?

No, it's a type of safety feature for iron block engines that are designed to pop out in a hard freeze instead of cracking the block.

I always thought they were just blocking off holes left by the block casting process. Learned something

They are sometimes called core plugs, and they do fit that purpose during the casting process.
Many people swear that's their only function.
I've heard that too, but it's why they're replaceable.
If they wanted to just seal a hole, why wouldn't they weld or bond a stouter plug to eliminate them leaking?

Nice work! It's pretty satisfying when you do it yourself, eh?

Sorry to hear about the flooding.
I live north of K.C. on high ground.
I was keenly aware of trying to avoid flood plains when buying a new house.
I can relate, being from South Louisiana.
Hopefully everything works out.

Update!!!!

So I got my car all together and changed the thermostat and it runs good but I need to bleed the slave cylinder and also my temp gauge keeps moving up and down. My father in law and grandfather say it's because I completely drained the coolant and it has air pockets in it and it working them out.
