turbo manifold & downpipe

This may have been covered somewhere else but I couldn't find it so I'm going to post it here considering I can't post it in the correct location yet.

Where the hell do I find a top mount turbo exhaust manifold and downpipe that don't come in a kit and/or that don't cost $1,600 per piece.

I've found a few shops that will weld the manifolds for about $900 a piece but that just seems ridiculous to me. I know our cars aren't the cheapest to mod but the manifold doesn't seem like a difficult design.

It's just crazy to me that you could purchase a ram horn manifold and downpipe for an Evo for about $600 but yoy can't find one for an Rx8.

And yes. I've looked in the buy/trade/looking for section. Nothing to be found. ):

from reading this it seems like you have a lot of research to complete....
Thinking of going turbo? Start with the Major HP section.
Look up the PTP Kit that pops up on ebay from time to time. Only thing needed for completion is EMS, BOV, Turbo, WG. It runs roughly 1500$. I've talked to Ryan, the owner of Stout Performance(what used to be PTP). He will cut a better deal over the phone.

Your results sound about right. The problem with the manifold is that the engine mount on that side is in the way, so most manifolds need a modified engine mount as well, which immediately classifies it as a "kit".

The number of turbocharged RX-8 is low enough that prices are high all around. Every Evo is turbocharged though, so it WOULD be lower priced.

Welcome to the cost of turbocharging the Renesis. If you aren't starting with a $10k budget, it's going to end in tears. It still might end in tears even with a $10k budget anyway.

I don't think you could have enough research lol. I had no idea Ptp changed their company name. No wonder a Google search on them brought up minimal Information in the past.

Sadly sounds about right. Even if you do take all the precautions. Honestly when my car finally blows the motor I'll have it rebuilt and street ported to give it some extra strength and power. Money and time really aren't that big a deal to me. I just sorta know the value of things but your answer actually makes a lot of sense. Guess you gotta pay to play and hell, might As well get it right the first time.
