TRICKY problem! need help!(I am new)

Sorry if I posted in the wrong spot. Everywhere else I tried writing a new post it said access restricted.

NEED HELP. VERY TRICKY(very detailed)

First post on this forum let alone any forum. I need help, so I bought a 2004 winning blue rx8 with 8600 miles about 1 week ago with fresh tune and service from Mazda tuning and a new clutch 2 months ago. I am no longer, but had an issue while trying to shift gears.

Background on the incident:

Driving back from vacation in California to Washington and I was over halfway back and I was on a straightaway. I got the car to about 115 mph and slowly decelerated. After about 10 miles I went to downshift to get off an exit to take a ****. HOWEVER, when I went from sixth gear to fifth the clutch would not engage and all I was hearing was gears grinding. And so with clutch fully compressed I tried shifting into sixth and with no luck my car would not shift into any gears. At this point I decided to float shift into sixth and drive until I could google issue and get answer! No posts about any rx8 having a sudden and extreme clutch failure like this. I eventually had to get gas so I exited and issue remained. I had to float shift all the way to the gas station. I got there I filled up and started my car and it BARELY engaged first gear but enough to get me rolling so I could float shift all the way home. And at this point I was pretty confident this new clutch was just busted.

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS TRICKY:

So I successfully float shifted back to freeway constantly testing to see if my clutch would work in any gear at all, Which it would not. So after I get on the free way and I’m in sixth gear and I’m doing 70mph googling everything from clutch master cylinder issue to pedal brakes to clutch/transmission and everything in between. I had no luck finding any answers at all relating to my current symptoms. then I just throw my phone and think... nothing pops up. BUT THEN I decide to try shifting my tranny and with any luck maybe it will show improvement and work or somthing!!! AND IT DID!! I immediately pulled over and at this time I just only successfully shifted into fifth. I stop, smoke a cigarette and my head is just spinning trying to figure this out!!!! I get check fluids then get back into my car (all fluids fine including the brakes) and I start in neutral and every gear shifted with no issues at all! Felt like a brand new clutch with no problems, perfect feeling, and literally no mechanical issues or symptoms relating to any part of my car!

This all happened about 2 hours ago and I need to know WHY TF did my car go from perfect to a almost complete clutch failure back to perfect within an hour.

What caused this and what can I do to prevent or fix the issue?!?

Thank you guys for taking the time to help me out with this one

Your just some southern Texas middle aged crisis drive idiot who probably is just trying to get arise out of some nineteen year old who is legitimately confused and asking for help. And second you obviously don’t know what Oregon traffic is at 3 Am-ish. There is 0 people on the roads. Eat a bag of dicks

His reply was perfectly reasonable, I've lost friends to people on their phones behind the wheel.

And I have never seen a reason to do 100+mph on any public road...anywhere...come on man.

There is a fairly short list of things that can go wrong here, take a look at this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...ailure-239608/

That's all the help I will offer.

get your clutch pedal welded back together and you'll be fine.... you said it's a 2004 with 8600 miles? Did you miss a zero? When I bought my 2004 in 2008 it had that... crazy that someone would have a 15 year old car with such low mileage.

Rethink your approach and get rid of your butthurt.

0 people on the road, eat a bag....

I try to be helpful here, but responses like this **** me off.

I kind of wish a coyote or deer would've run out in front of you while you were reading on your phone at 70 mph.

Sounds like your clutch pedal is broke/breaking and/or your master/slave cylinder is shot. Personally, I hope it's all three, if only due to your reckless way of driving and attitude. You're 19 and have your whole life in front of you...anything on that precious cell phone can wait until you get where you're going.
