got a noise coming from trans think its coming from around the gear box if put it in neutral and put between 1st and 2nd it stops everything else is fine no grinding no hard shifting sounds like i got the air on low changed fluid a week ago any thoughts

 

Hey.. Thoroughly check your gear boot. There may be a crack or hole. I know it may sound ridiculous, my 8 had some noise coming in 2nd, 4th and 6th gear, showed it to couple mechanics, and Mazda but only to be disappointed. Last week i was detailing my car and found a crack in the boot for some odd reason i put a duct tape on it and drove, surprisingly there was no noise what so ever, I just replaced my gear boot now. I hope this helps..

Thats funny u mention that because I do have a couple holes in the shift boot man I hope ur right it was freaking me out thanks for the help
