Tow guy removed small rubber pieces under my rx8??
hey guys, first time poster here
i recently had my rx8 towed out of my garage due to flooding... when it was being towed, the guy went under the car near the front wheels and pulled a small rubber piece from each side. He put them in the cup holder, and i just assumed the auto mechanic (it was being towed there) would put them back in place. So i got a call from my auto mechanic and said my rx8 was ready, when i picked it up the rubber pieces were still in the cup holder.
So i drove it home... so i guess it's not anything important but i'm just wondering what they are, if they need to go back in place, why the tow truck guy pulled them off..
heres a pic

so i was wondering if someone could tell me what they are.. and where they go that'd be great.
also side note, i looked at several videos on the de-flooding procedure. i tried holding down the gas and cranking it for 10 seconds, then 5 seconds of no gas cranking.. did that until my battery started dying, no luck. Knowing that i have no mechanical training, is de-flooding something simple that can be done myself? I read something about unplugging the fuel line fuse but decided against it since the towing was free from my insurance, and i know my auto mechanic very well and he said it wouldn't cost much. Just curious because i like to do things myself if at all possible.
thanks!
