i need help cant find out why my cel come on last night but had it checked and its throwing codes p0411 and p0420. The car is stock as far as i know it has 64k miles on it and been noticing power loss while going up hills etc. not idling rough thinking it might be my cat but not sure

 

Well P0411 is the Secondary Air flow injection and the P0420 is Catalytic Efficiency

So I'm guessing your catalytic convertor could be screwed or the Secondary Air Pump is toast or something is not functioning in between

 

i dont know if i need to start with cat to see if it fixes the problem or the air flow injection i figured one of them is throwing the other code and and corresponding with each other, still learning these rx8's

 

Could be, could be.

Very very very common for the catalytic convertors to fail on these 8's
But I wouldn't drive around with a clogged catalytic for long as that could result in engine failure.

 

well do u know what the warranty is on them

 

is it covered under manufacturing warranty

 

It's different depending on the Country but in North America I believe its 8 years

 

well might be going to the dealership monday mine is a 06 but i dont want to spend more money then i have to for diagnostics if that isn't the problem

 

is their anyway to check the air injection system

 

i need more help on this anyone
