I have a broken wire at the trunk lid for the third brake. I spliced it and put a wire nut on it. It now works. Problem is I need to know how to get the lights on my dash to go out. I do not want to take it to a stealership and be charged mega bucks. I have tried all the ideas posted to reset it...turning the steering wheel etc...I have also gone to autozone and they can not reset it... what are my options. And I cannot open my driver door. It unlocks but will not open from the outside or the inside. When I was putting the key in the driver door and locking/ unlocking it, it out of the blue unlocked the passenger door (thank god) now I can get in the car. I have read it could be a broken re-tractor spring. Can I take it to a general mechanic to be fixed so I do not pay mega bucks at the stealership. I know it will be a bear to get to due to the fact the door will not open. And the approx pricing for all this. I am in Largo FL. Thx Teresa
