Tablet instead of a head unit?

What i want to do is get rid of the factory hu and just have a tablet to listen to music and cant figure out if its possible.
ive been looking everywhere on the internet and have only found one person that seems to have done this. the video i found shows the guy having a metra DD kit and hooking up his tablet to a bluetooth audio adapter. i know its possible but the video doesnt really explain how he has it set up.
heres the link
thanks in advance

Have you tried searching the audio subforum here? Plenty of people have done this with success.

I have and every one that I've seen is to replace the Navi hood and isn't removing the head unit all together.

I'm surprised that no one makes a dash tablet with a fitment kit. I'm going to start looking for one as well.

Well the Metra double din kit can have it fit but I'm trying to figure out how to just connect like a 3.5mm jack into the wiring harness without a head unit. I don't care about having to run wires to a new amp or anything.

So, you're just looking for a way to drive the speakers? A basic 2-channel amp could work.

This is probably overkill but it would also work.
Pyle - PLE530PAI - On the Road - Equalizers - Crossovers

Mount that in the dash behind the tablet.

Alternately, get a mini bluetooth receiver like this and then don't worry about having an audio cable:
PyleHome - PFA320BT - Home and Office - Amplifiers - Receivers - Sound and Recording - Amplifiers - Receivers

Forgot to mention that I have the bose system so would that work still? Or would I need something with more channels?

It depends on how the Bose amp(s) work.

What kind of input is it expecting? Does it take control signals from the old head unit?

Bose headunit:
the signal into the amp is flat. Out of the Bose amp, not at all flat.
Some guidance on hooking up an LOC. Also, instructions on tapping into the inputs to the rear amp
Both HUs output differential speaker-level signals. Do not hook the HU signal directly to an amp's line-level/high-level inputs. Instead, connect to a line output converter first. Otherwise, frying of HU may occur.
