stereo tied to AC switch?

hey guys,

is the stereo tied into the AC switch? getting no power to the middle switch. Heater & Fan controller work fine, but the AC/ air directional switch has no power.. any suggestion?

plug is connected. AC fuse is fine.

I have a spare AC switch outta another but its buried in a box and don't think its the switch yet...

it is?

Last I checked they were two separate harnesses that go to the AC switches, neither of which was tied to the stereo except a common ground. The AC is however on the (in the case of the S1) SPI bus so it can communicate to the information screen

Well when I say tied to, I mean when my faceplate cracked and separated from the board, the HVAC controls would not light up and the LED display would go nuts.

alright so i swapped the whole bottom switch and same thing.. heater blower works (very very noisy, prob the motor is toast? 220,000kms on it) and the heater control SEEMS to work. BUT still the middle button does not light up or fan directional does not work.

any other tidbits of advice? grabbing a stereo this weekend to try this. the red light bar above the stereo does not light up.. This usually tells u whether u have AC on, fan direction, etc.. so I'm hoping its all tied together.

any DIYs out there for fan removal (I'm assuming dash is coming out?)

thanks guys
