Steering Angle Sensor Reset

I'm planning on putting in an aux mod for my radio, for which I will need to disconnect the battery. I understand that doing this will cause the TCS to not function until a steering angle sensor initialization is done.

Should the engine be running when the sensor initialization is done? Otherwise I'm not sure how I am going to move the wheels without the power steering to full lock.

Is there anything else that will reset with a disconnected battery that needs to be re-initialized besides radio settings?

It's no big deal. When you reconnect the battery and you next start the engine (even if it is weeks later), just turn the steering wheel completely to the bump stop in one direction, then completely to the stop in the other direction, and the sensor will be calibrated.

The wheel speed sensors still need to calibrated, but all that takes is about 5-10 feet of driving, and the next time you cycle the power off and then on, you will have full TCS and DSC.

So you could just fire it up, turn the steering wheel each direction, roll the car out of the garage or to the end of the driveway, turn it off and then turn it back on again. (assuming your ignition, compression, battery, and starter are healthy, this won't flood it)

Not a big deal at all.

Fuel trims will still need to be re-learned over a few drive cycles, just drive normally.
