Spark plugs wires and coils but problem remains

So about a month ago a started noticing that at random times i would start losing power at random rpm's either 3000 or 6000. then i finally got the flashing CEL as i was pulling up on my drive way and my car started idling really low and the whole car was shaking pretty hard and there was light white smoke coming out the exhaust and there was absolutely no power. It smelled like a dirt bike and sounded like a lawnmower.

So i check the coils, only 2 seemed to have the big white spots, the two that lead to the rotor closest to the firewall. the other two seemed in okay condition. i went to auto zone to get the two coils and as suggested by the guy there, he said i should change out the spark plugs and wires (why is each spark plugs so damn expensive?). I got the 2 coils, the wires and spark plugs replaced. The first two spark plugs were in worn condition and the last two (the ones that lead to the rotor closest to the firewall) looked more like ****.

I drove it around for a few days to get the feel for it and it had the problem still of losing power randomly, so today i replaced the other two coils finally and it sort of fixed the problem. Yet it still remains some what. Im still getting a jumpy feeling at times. i also went to auto zone to get the CEL checked out and the guy said its a misfire and i told him how literally everything was replaced how could it be? He said to give it a few days. Any suggestions and tips? Thanks

(by the way yes I've read a lot of threads on here but none of them answered my question)

You need to properly diagnose the issue, the white spots mean absolutely nothing, the coils have to actually be tested to know if they are failing or not.

Probably, but from what I remember OEM replacements were the best and a lot of people had issues with aftermarket coil packs and plugs.

Yes and if you didn't test spark then it could also be the wires, or plugs, or a fouled ESS, etc. etc.

Recently it was time to change the ignition components in my car. I bought a set at the local auto parts store (Pepboys/Advance...) and not even one week after installing them I now have an CEL. It could just be that something else when bad, although I was suspect of the quality from the start from reading reviews on checking the forums. The wires and plugs are NGK which is exactly what you get from the dealership just not at the ridiculous cost.

So my wires and coils are Duralast and my spark plugs are NGK. Any suggestions?

M A Z D A

Use internet explorer in the developer mode set the Document Mode to IE7 or the CSS or whatever crap it is doesn't frame correctly.

So clicky link with IE
Hit F12
Change to 7
Leave developer window running, switch back to IE
It should work correctly.
