SOHN Adapter - Reservoir filter?
SOHN Adapter - Reservoir filter?
For all of the many Sohn related posts across Rx8club I've read little more than the suggestion that adding a filter between the adapter and reservoir might aid in the longevity of this modification, but not a single instance of someone actually installing one. It would seem to be a necessary addition in order to keep foreign particles from entering the OMP and eventually clogging the injector nozzles, so for anyone who has installed a filtering device, how did you do it? Has anyone encountered an OMP failure or line obstruction that can be directly attributed to a lack of filtration on the Sohn?

All of which is only clean so long as the filler cap stays shut. The engine's natural oil system accounts for this and potential impurities in the oil with such a filter.

From Canadian Tire, the lawnmower section. I honestly don't remember the type, just look for one that has input/output ends that match your line's diameter. It interrupts the line about 6 inches downstream from the reservoir.
Engine oil is subject to contamination from various wear metals from engine wear and ingested contaminants thru the intake system. Clean two stroke in a sealed reservoir is not. It's a ridiculous idea but if it makes you feel better than knock yourself out. But rather than focusing on a filter you should be focusing on a proper reservoir for your 2 stroke.
