NJ Selling 06 Rx8 149,000 miles - needs engine rebuilt

Has anyone sold their rx8 once the engine has gone? I have a 06' with 149,000 miles on the vehicle. What do you think I could sell it for? Quotes on a new engine rebuild are $4,500 but I'm looking to start a family and want to put that money toward a family friendly vehicle. Please let me know if I can sell my car even though the buyer will need to put an engine in it! (It has a new catalytic converter in it!!) -sadly parting from this amazing car

If you haven't blown an apex seal, coolant seal, bearing, etc, and the body is in great shape, I think it's more than reasonable to ask for $4,000 as long as you are honest.

If the apex seals are blown and the body is in great shape, I would ask for $3,000.

Most people looking to buy an Rx-8 with a blown engine are probably going to
spend $700 - $1500 in parts and fix it up. I know I would if I know what I do now.

Worst case scenario, you start high and lower the price until it sells
unless you need to sell it as soon as possible.

Good luck.
