I have installed a Mazdatrix S2 front bumper on a 2010 RX-8 and the fitment was ****. Their rear bumper will likely be no different. My buddy paid to have it properly fitted and it looked pretty good (7 out of 10) but they could just not get it perfect for what he was willing to pay them.

It's definitely going to need some adjustments as far as fitment goes (as they say on their site in the product description) but that's to be expected for the material used and the price. I was more talking about the fact that you do not need to modify any of the mounting points and the fact that it does fit the S2 lights.

Adjustments is a big understatement. Swapping the S2 mounting brackets on is nothing and they are cheap. And you can get an 09-11 OEM bumper pretty damn cheap, there is one on Ebay for $80.00 right now.

Damn that is ridiculously cheap. What search criteria did you use? I always get crap results when searching ebay.

Oh one other thing I forgot to mention and this is kind of a big deal for those that don't want to modify their exhaust. On the series 1 the exhaust sits a lot higher than it does on the series 2. If you were to use the stock bumper you would have to bend it/weld it into the correct shape so it clears the bumper. If you have a stainless steel exhaust then bending isn't really an option. You are going to have to get a custom exhaust made. The Mazdatrix rear bumper doesn't require this.

This is the initial reason why I was looking at the Mazdatrix bumper. I'd much rather spend some money getting this bumper fitted than paying for a custom exhaust. Not sure if a series 2 exhaust is compatible with series 1.

Nah, you can just use longer hangers, easy peasy. That is how a lot of S2 guys run the TurboXs and other catbacks.

Ok that's a relief to know. In the DIY thread I found the guy paid to get his exhaust modified.

Heh did as much research as I could on this and there is just a bunch of misinformation out there apparently.
