RX8- Trigger Wheel Alignment Series 1 (UK)
Hi All,
Just joined up, i'm from the UK and i'm trying to find an answer to a technical question. Alot of technical knowledge in the states so i thought i would try here as well as on the UK boards.
I'm building up another engine using parts from my engine and I've come to put the trigger wheel on the eccentric shaft behind the front pulley.
I notice it has two alignment pins which allow it to fit on in one of two orientations, (180 degrees out) and it has a timing mark (arrow) on the trigger wheel. There is no obvious ignition timing mark on the front cover that i can see.
In what position do I need to get the rotors in which chamber, and what do I need to align this mark up with to ensure its on the correct way round? Or can the trigger wheel simply go on in either position?
I've checked the service manual, it simply refers to fitting and removing as if the wheel can only go on one way. It is possible that my wheel is damaged and I'll test this on the other engine at the weekend when I'm back at the garage.
Thanks
Matt
