Hi. My rx8 has a starring problem. Only last month I replaced the rack, the harness, the eco.
it worked fine. Up until I came back from a day out and parked it. Next morning starring doesn't work.
took everything apparent and cleaned. Still not working. Changed harness again.Still nothing.
cleaned everything changed everything. What else can it be????????

 

What do you mean by "doesn't work"? There is no power assist? A light is on? The wheel can't turn?

 

No power assist at all. No light on.

 

Hmm, well usually that's caused by a poor/dirty/corroded connection, which can be cleaned as follows:

What sometimes happens is if the coolant overflow tank is leaking, it leaks onto the power steering connector and causes it to short. Check that that's not the case.

What harness did you have replaced? And what's an eco?

 

I have two rx8,s both 192. Side by side changing parts. All my silver stuff that I replace with the blue one works on it. But doesn't work on mine. Take stuff from blue one and put it on mine and it doesn't work. Still no starring assist. Cleaned all connections and electric grease. Still nothing on silver one but all ok on the blue one with either parts on.

 

Have you checked the EPS fuse? Or other fuses for that matter?

 

All fuses are ok. None of what is happening makes sense.
