Rx8 shuts off immediately on cold start

Hello so I just replaced a crankcase sensor in my car and when I started it up it started and then a second later stalled so I thought maybe just drive and when I pulled in to get gas it died but as long as I keep pressing the throttle it won’t die it does show the battery symbol but I never disconnected it. Any suggestions?

Crankcase sensor? You mean Eccentric Shaft Sensor (ESS)? If that is what you replaced, you need to reset the NVRAM. Google how to do it for your model year.

stamp on the brake pedal 20 times if it is earlier than a 2009 with the key in the on position, then crank up the car. You'll know it worked when you see the oil pressure gauge spike.
