RX8 issue when raining

Hey folks,
04 rx8, when i drive it while it's raining/wet, idle seems to drop below 800, and regularly die, seems to have a hard time maintaining idle. Anyone have any idea why? Is there some sensor or electronics or something else on the underside of the car that would effect idle speed or something? Doesn't seem to be a general electrical issue, because when the car dies at idle the electronics and lights stay on. When dry conditions return, car runs fine and maintains idle without issue. Can anyone help with this mystery? Cheers!

What modifications do you have?
Aftermarket Intake?

Yes the Eccentric Shaft Sensor can cause issues if it's dirty/wet

Do you still have the splashguard under the engine? Need that, for multiple reasons, including water protection.

Looks like it might have been partially cut out by previous owner
