Agreed with above. Dont spend any more time or money on parts or research until you know the numbers. That will immediately give you the info that you need.

I had this SAME problem with my 05 that I bought a few months ago. Check engine light flashing and all. Scared the crap out of me considering I was stuck in traffic. Here's what I did to fix my issue.... clean the maf sensor.(with maf sensor cleaner) New spark plugs. Check your air filter. Make sure it is clean and free of oil (trust me its not unusual to find oil on it) which is why I bought a K&N washable filter. Make sure you are using 93 gas. (My 05 will not take anything except shell v-power). And make sure you red line your 8 AT LEAST once a day. After I did all of this, my problem and check engine light disappeared.

 

Im getting it compression tested thursday. I will post the results when I get them
