RX8 Engine Failure
Hello RX8 Forums. I have come to you with a problem I got this past tuesday. I was driving in traffic and i was at 4k rpms. The car lost all of its engine power and it dropped and when to 0. When I tried to start it again, all it did was crank, it felt like it was not even trying. Then cranked it again and it locked up. I took it to my shop and managed to free up the rotors (im guessing) by hand cranking it. It started up but is not running right at all. It is running very rich and will not stay running as soon as i tap the gas. Please help i am not familiar with the inner-workings of rotary engines, but i have common knowledge of a mechanic.

Start with the new owner's thread and the misfire thread below. Both of them will answer many of the common questions and start you with a knowledge case to work from.
The short story is that there are many options it could be, but compression loss is certainly a good possibility. You will need to get a compression test at a dealer to confirm. A regular analog compression testers won't get you the info you need, see the new owner's thread compression section for the needed info on why.
If your car's original in-service / purchase date was after June 5th 2005 by any luck, you might still be covered under the 8yr 100,000 mile factory warranty. Chances are you are a year or so out of the coverage though.
With that low of mileage, it's possible that recall MSP-16 was never completed on it, which would certainly shorten the life of the engine considerably.

I did a full compression test everything seemed normal. I voided the warrenty because i put a GReddy Turbo on it and we then upgraded it to the stage 2 water-cooled turbo housing that was done by TURBLOWN.
I am not under warrenty, but i have compression.
What were the 6 scores and at what RPM?
You have listed several names that are known to blow engines, on top of having blown engine symptoms, so forgive me if I'm not convinced by your statement.
