Rx8 06 bogging under 3500rpm

Hi
I have a 2006 Rx8, it keeps on coming up with the codes:
p2096 and p2270. I have looked through all the other forms. It bogs out under 3500rpm and its fine after that. I think that it could be something to do with the o2 sensors but we have already cleaned them in the cat and the maf sensor. Also we have checked for exhaust leaks.
Thanks
Jay

You're cat is most likely bad and is going to kill you're car engine if you keep running it like that, DO NOT DRIVE YOU'RE CAR!!! You need to pull you're catalytic converter down and look on the inside of it and see if it's all melted or if it's blocked and you can take a bar or something and punch it out. From what you are explaining it's not allowing enough air flow and bogging you car down. BTW it could also start a fire and the cat will glow red and start melting stuff, one almost made my car burn to the ground. After you do that you may want to look into replacing you're coils and spark plugs to make sure there is no unburned fuel at least not at much in the exhaust

I doubt if it's the cat. If the cat is melted, then it would have affected the car during high RPM, not low.

Seems like your car is running lean. Are there any cracks in the intake system or vacuum leaks?

If it is a vacuum leaks I would recommend checking these first they could have come undone

How did you clean the O2 sensors and the cat? That's not possible or the right thing to do to fix an O2 sensor. Since the 2 codes are about the post-cat O2 sensor, I'd start there, but can you get some fuel trim data on a warm idle? If the trims are off the scale, the problem is upstream from thr engine

Hi
thanks for your help
I have already removed the cat and replaced it with a straight through Decat and it’s was still the same .
I also have cleaned the old cat and put it back on the car as the decat was too noisy for me.
I have also removed the Back o2 cat sensor and clean it, also i have checked it with a multi meter. I will be taking the front o2 sensor off and cleaning that aswell.
So will have to try and look for vacuum leaks.
thanks
jay

How are you cleaning these things? There's really no effective way to do that...

Hi
Sorry for not responding straightaway. I removed the cat and use a number of things like: brake cleaner, carb cleaner and filled the cat up with engine degreaser and left to soak for 48 hours then rinsed it out . I know the cat wasn’t the issue as i already fitted the de cat. Also i Cleaned the back O2 sensor with brake cleaner then carb cleaner And then i used a airline to clean it off.
thanks

hi
How would you suggest that I check the pipes as they seem okay and all attached.
Also I have had a CarbonClean a couple days ago which hasn’t killed the problem but definitely made the car a lot
smoother.
thanks

So carb cleaner and brake cleaner will ruin O2 sensors. If you didn't need a new sensor before, you do now. Leave the front one well enough alone. If it's giving you a code for lean condition, read the actual AFR to confirm it is lean, and figure out why. If you have ignition failure, the sensor could be reading lean since it measures free oxygen rather than fuel. No combustion: lots of free oxygen.
