Thumbs down Rx 8 problem

So I bought my rx8 with 50k on it has been working perfectly
Until today. So I drove around for a while and came home parked my car got out but my lock button stopped working, I thought nothing of it, got back in it to head out and noticed All my saved radio stations had been gone and my time wasn't right. Still ran fine. Got to a friends and parked my car and my lock button didn't work again. Several hours later I got back in it and it would not start, was not making a noise at all. So we boosted it. And I got home fine, but, turned my car off and now it will not start. I have no power, it will not jump start and there is a clicking noise every time I crank it. I've tried a new battery in it as well so what could it be!

Have you checked the cables that attach to the terminals? One of mine was halfway off when I bought my 05.

The battery isn't connected well.

If your radio stations got reset, the car lost battery power (for more than an instant). Clicking while trying to start means insufficient current to turn the starter. So.. it's the connections and wires, somewhere.

Perhaps not at the battery but the other end of the battery ground wire. It's possible for battery connectors to be fully tightened and still loose on the battery post enough to wiggle. There should be no wiggle.

If the only thing in common is using the lock button, see if everything gets reset if and only if you use the lock button. Could be something grounding out in that circuit.

That's usually a sign of a low battery. Whatever blew the main fuse is probably responsible for that.

Don't just look at the battery terminals. Remove them, clean the posts and the clamps, and reconnect, ensuring that the clamps are seated firmly before you tighten them.

You definitely had, or have, a battery terminal connection problem. Corrosion can easily be out of sight between the clamps and the posts.
