RX-8 DSC switches on after starting engine.

Hi,

I'm noticing something very strange, I'm a new owner of RX-8 and never had one before 2 weeks ago. What I'm noticing is sometimes random when i start my engine the DSC led comes on. What i noticed is that before it switches on the rev counter from 1000 rpm goes to zero for a moment then back to the normal revs and then the DSC light would come on. Then I switch off and switch on again .. and it disappears.

It confused me totally.

Make sure your battery terminals aren't loose

Battery terminals. Your car isn't receiving enough current to keep the computers running. The light means DSC is off, it's on all the time otherwise.

Battery terminals, yes.

Do you have any device plugged in to the OBD port?

I have had this happen with some brands of scanners.

Yes I have the ODB scanner connected practically all the time as I'm monitor the car stats with torque. Do you think that it's the main cause of the issue ?

Yep. Pull it and see if you get the same behavior for a few starts.
