RX* ambient temp indicator

Hello all!

My ambient temp indicator seems very odd.. It literally takes about 30 minutes for the indicator to come up to temp. If it's 65 in the garage, and 80 degrees outside, I can drive on the highway for 30 minutes and watch the temperature come up ever so slowly and about half an hour later, it indicates the correct temperature.. Does anyone know the location of the sensor? Is it in the air intake, behind the oil cooler? In the MAF? Will this affect other systems in the ECU?

Thanks!

It's connected to the bumper frame. To get to it you need to remove the front dressing (bumper) of the car.
No it has no impact on the operation of the vehicle.

Are these sensors know to be slow/fail?

Hello, mine seems to work fine, but mine sleeps outside. It goes from really hot parked in the sun at work and drops quick when I leave. Maybe it takes longer to warm up when it's cold?
I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine warms up from a cold start within 10 minutes even sitting around like 2000-3000 rpm, although I wouldn't be too concerned about the temperature gauge since it doesn't affect anything.
