I can put 370 HP to the wheels, I.e. ~ dbl the power of NA; but my TC never activates. So, IMO the issue is either your driving..., or something other than your TC.

 

Could very well be my driving.

Okay, watching it again, the CEL was ALSO blinking -- I remember that from when it happened though you can't see it in the video (right side of panel is out of view).

 

If your CEL (engine icon) is blinking it's misfiring.

Per my, and other, previous comments... use process of elimination:
- disable TC, go for a spirited drive and see what symptoms you get. (Free)
- test each plug, wire, & coil path. ($20)
- research APV operation and testing on the forum..... (Free)

• I've already taken it on a spirited ride. No symptoms. No flashing lights. No codes. Thumbs up.
  
• Spark plugs are (again) brand new. Installed on Monday by the dealer. Wires and coil pack two months old. I will invest in a coil tester though. I have a feeling it's going to be handy during this adventure.
  
• I've researched APV stuff ad nauseum, but yeah.
  

Just to reiterate there were these codes the day of the video:

I'm just not convinced that a couple dozen redline attempts stopped short by a stuck APV would cause brand new spark plugs to turn black in less than three weeks. (Plugs installed early Dec; video is from 12/27.) The APV may still be an issue, but I don't think it would raise those codes.

If that's not traction control kicking in, is it the APV sticking, or is it something related to the cause or effect of fouled plugs? That's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of.

 

Can you check your fuel trims on a warm idle? They're called LTFT and STFT in the OBD readers, usually. That will confirm/eliminate a vacuum leak.

​​​​​​Picture of spark plugs would help. Black isn't bad by itself, depends on the quality of deposits. If it's indeed running super rich, the fuel trims will show it.

What intake do you have? Some aftermarket intakes cause these types if problems.

Is there oil in the intake?

 

"No symptoms". Golden.

Fouled plugs, misfiring, and rev inhibition are all symptoms. They are the cough, not the cold. All your previous symptoms c/h been caused by as we advised earlier a faulty "ignition component...plugs, wires, or coils. Hopefully, the new plugs fixed you up.

 

I’ll have to check some of these things later. I do have a pic of one of the plugs though.

 

Look fairly similar to my plugs as well. Black but it doesn't seem to affect performance for me.
