rebuilt engine - P2010 apv DTC ?

HEy all, just had my engine rebuilt for 3.5k. getting a P2010 code (apv). Shop who rebuilt it says could be faulty but as far as rebuilding the engine - its not their concern ? Does this seem reasonable?

(I mean, I am aaware if my rear end blows it not their fault, but this seems strange no? )

Did you reset the sensor profiles (NVRAM search) after the engine install? I don't think it will have any effect on the APV code but it's possible it will and really needs to be done after a rebuild anyway. Do that and if it doesn't clear it then the APV gear is likely out of position, you have to clock the gear a certain way (1 o'clock position) before you put the APV motor back on.

Then you need to remove the APV motor and make sure the gear is positioned right. Did they remove the APV's from the lower intake manifold to clean them?

I am getting the same code from my rebuild. I'll let you know what I find out when I look into removing the APV. Have you done yours yet?
