Bought my 04 RX8 in 2010 with 32,000 miles on it. Let it fall into the hands of my son because he graduated with honors. Graduating with honors does not an RX8 owner make. Got the car back 2 days ago because he was having a problem with it and was just going to get rid of it. I rescued the poor car and got her back up and running like a champ. Now I'm preparing to clean the grunge that he left me with. It feels good having the RX8 back again even though in means there are now 4 cars parked in my driveway. I've followed this forum for a while and now that I have the car back, I've decided it was time to stop being on the outside looking in and participate. Thanks to everyone who has been an unknowing resource for me throughout the years!

If you don't mind me asking, what was wrong with the car?

 

He told you, he has an honors student he gave it to. Once he got rid of that it runs perfectly now..

 

Oil metering pump. Car was stuck 150 miles from where I lived. I was at the mercy of the garage he dropped it off at. For about 1500 bucks I was able to drive it home 10 days later. Runs well. Fortunately most of the grunge is centered around the drivers side.
