Raw fuel smell in car, pulls slower after 7K RPM

I have had a raw fuel smell in the car for a few weeks now, it smells like gasoline slightly. It's not horrible but I catch a whiff of it every once in awhile while im driving. I also noticed that from about 7- redline the car pulls slower. It feels great from 5-7 then it sounds like it's struggling a bit.

It makes me think my cat could be clogged or something like that.. I know the previous owner had a bad coil and drove on it for awhile. Is there a way to check the cat? If it is clogged can i just poke everything out and make it a midpipe? How much louder would this make it though, I don't want to get pulled over hah. (I have OBX catback)

Front being the side closest to the front of the car right?

yes. the fuep pump is under the rear drv side seat, check the plastic elbows that the fuel lines connect to. the fuel line clips will be under the hood on the drv side between the wheel well and motor

Thanks for the tips, I will have a look tomorrow. I decided to clean the ESS today and all my power steering harness connectors since my PW steering went out randomly today. Reset with 20 stomps and my power steering is back now. After cleaning the ESS my idle is better and the car seems to pull WAY better... i want to think it's just placebo but that ESS was completely black and gunked up.
Also my car is not misfiring at redline anymore since cleaning the ESS.

misfires are very bad and even worse if you have a cat. 99% of the time its ignition related so get that done. kill the cat and theres a diy for cleaning the p/s harness
