Rattle Over Bumps - Right Side

I have this annoying rattle that I can only hear with the windows down when driving over bumps. I first thought it was a heat shield rattle and searched here to fix that, but after 4 or 5 times under the car it is definitely not the exhaust. Then I thought it was the shield behind the rotor rattling against the rotor or the caliper, but it isn't that. I found this post:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...s-speed-13410/

I'm trying to make sense of the picture - since it's the left side, I'm guessing the left of the pic is towards the front. Does this rotor backing plate go around to the right side as well as the rattle is definitely on the right?

Thanks,
Chad

The rotor backing plate is behind the brake rotor on all four corners. They can rattle against the spindle or brake caliper if they are bent. They are made from easily bendable material if they are getting in the way

Thanks for your response. I felt stupid once I took my phone out then I could the see what he was talking about. I didn't have any stones behind mine and I cannot reproduce the sound no matter what I do. I guess the best way to describe it would be a "chattering" sound.

I think I've finally narrowed it down after further reading that it's the pads rattling in the caliper. Need to check and see if there are shims in there or not.

It is unlikely to be a brake pad rattling...especially in the rear. With the way that the emergency brake works it is almost impossible. Squealing would be a different matter

Check the suspension arms, the sway bar end links and the bar mounts...that would be a lot more likely

It's actually coming from the front. Today I applied the brakes while going over bumps and the rattle stopped. I do have the rear brake squeal
