Random slugish acceleration/new member

Hey guys
After getting valuable tips and help from searching this site I'm happy to finally sign up and join. One issue I couldn't seem to find help with is random sluggish acceleration. After driving a while or when revving on higher rpms and releasing clutch the car sometimes accelerates in slower motion. Could it be just my footwork? Sparks, coils, wires replaced maf cleaned. Regular maintenance. Premix with idomitsu Shell v power.
One hard start in the 10 months I've had the 8. 2006 mt 10100 miles new oem clutch with act prolite flywheel. The car runs snappy except these random times. I did not test compression yet but haven't found a reason to. Any help appreciated.

Are you getting any CELs?

Pull down your cat converter and check if it's clogged or damaged.

EDIT: And make sure you read the new and potential owners thread found in the new members forum.

Thanks for the reply
No CELs
I will try to drop it this week. Obd2 shows pretty normal temp for the cat at least I think.. Fairly long spirited driving it stays just under 1700

Definitely inspect your CAT and Air Filter.
Not sure if vacuum leak would initiate such symptoms

Well guys looks like the cat it is. I looked down after a drive and faintly see the red ring of death. Gonna install an aftermarket one.. Another thing forgot to mention is that the car runs with more power and smoother when on 1/4 gas.. Sounds strange and kind of dumb because logic says weight is reduced, but it doesn't happen when full, 3/4 or even half.. Fuel pump? Idk
