Exclamation Radio Display is Glitching Out

I'm not sure if you can see it clearly in the pictures but my radio display started freaking out not too long ago.

Whenever I start the car it shows the time of when I turned it off last time but it's just frozen, it doesn't even display the RX-8 name. Other times it just starts freaking out blinking every single thing from the display really fast and it won't go away for some time if it comes to that, it even lasts days sometimes. When it's not too bad it will freeze and only display random things until you hit the top of the dash it starts changing and sometimes it fixes it. But I don't like the feeling of hitting my car even if it'll fix it eventually.

Does anyone know what it may be? Or better yet how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Probably a loose connector, I've had that too after messing around in there. You can undo the entire center stack from the shifter up to get to get the display out and verify everything is snug.

Honestly one of the best things I did to my 8 was replacing the center console. Better radio, fixed controls for the top screen, etc

The front faceplate is loose on the radio itself, if you take out the whole radio stack, there are some screws that hold the faceplate to the radio chassis that have brass nuts located in the plastic, and they have probably broken loose since the plastic cracks. This causes the faceplate connector to make intermittent contact with the chassis. I pushed the nuts back into the plastic and used plastic epoxy on them. No problem since.

Although, my dash didn't freeze to the point I needed to hit it the countertop of it to resolve the issue the problem was similar... Did you try resetting dash/radio by disconnecting the car battery and reconnecting it seconds later?
That actually helped me haven't had the the glitching problem since... also I found out what caused the problem.. allowing the dash to be expose to the scorching sun.. if possible get a windshield shade.. I learned the hard way it happened to me few months ago while I was at the mva and of course it was a extremely hot (thought I'd be in & out but my car paid the price) now when I check the weather or happens to be out and its roasting ppl and things outside I pull out the shade.
