Question about wheel wells

So I just bought a 2005 RX8 and I know the rotary engine produces a lot of heat like how the tranny tunnel over heats, but is it normal for there to be a lot of heat coming from the front wheel wells and the front fenders becoming really hot?

It's not unusual on the passenger side (where the exhaust manifold sits). Haven't noticed it from the driver side.

Even the tranny tunnel shouldn't be THAT hot. Check that your catalytic converter is not glowing after a drive. I've never noticed any heat from either wheel well, unless the fans are running, in which case you're getting hot air off the radiator.

There are 2 large oil coolers in the front of the fenders...and they can heat up the front fenders if it is really hot out
