Why would you need to replace both the pump and the tank?

Yes, sure.
On the trackdays ... the rx8 behaves very well .. but in a part of the circuit (straight up) at around 7500 rpm 3rd gear the problem begin ... it's like a loss-power. I need to up the gear to a 4th and the problem disappear. This problem just appears in this part of the circuit ... so i talked with a friend (owner of several RX8) and he told me the problem is in the fuel pump and tank ... for the movement of the gasoline.

The problem could be due to quite a few things, guessing or having other people guess will get you no where, the problem needs to be diagnosed.

If it's a race car I assume you have a fuel pressure gauge?

One of many threads on the subject. Yes you need to check your fuel pressure to know if you have a problem with fuel delivery.

No i don't. It's not a 100% race car yet ... i working on it every day. In my country this sport is very very expensive. No one .. but NO ONE piece/part/replacement are available ... so is very difficult grow up in this sport here.

I'm going to get a fuel pressure gauge ... and i'm going to introduce to you.

Thanks u very much !

You can download the factory service manual from Normalexception.net - Home and follow the troubleshooting guide in it.

It is NOT common to have fuel starvation in a straight line with the way the stock fuel system is. you may just have a bad pump

It is very common on sticky tires to have fuel starvation in corners...especially longer sustained left turns with less than 1/4 tank of fuel

If your race series allows a fuel cell then it will be a good fix.....but if you are restricted to the stock fuel tank than there are things you will need to do . There are numerous posts on this issue...read some of them and then come back and ask questions and we will do our best to help you.

Some have had good results going to a S2 fuel pump assembly especially in an NA car

Ditto dannobre, my fuel pump issue was solved by putting a Series 2 pump into my NA Series 1.
