You can't really clean it, it will need to be replaced or gutted (which won't pass emissions depending on where you are located).

Also what do you mean by "burned out"?
Alright, I guess it can wait then. And the last guy over heated the engine to the point where some plastic parts started to melt onto the engine. Its crazy but true

I think that's what we'll do. I think we'll pick some new ones up from amazon tomorrow when my dad gets back, as well as the coils and wires just to rule out that as the problem. But for the time being we'll use the old ones

Sounds like a good deal, all that should run pretty cheap(20$ each plug, 20$ for wires, 30$ each coil, Bam fresh ignition. Hope all is well, and update us!

Alright, here's the update. We checked the wires and turns out we confused the trailing with the leading. We also installed the correct flat spark plugs. We found and connected the missing transmission wire. The only thing missing now is putting in the new radiator

We cranked the car today (cranked in about 2-3 seconds) and it stayed on for about 5 minutes. We erased the old engine codes and the new ones that showed were U0100:Lost communication with ECM/PCM A and U0101: Lost communication with TCM. We have no idea where to look for this issue, where is the connection being lost? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!! No more misfire issues.

And one more thing, when we turned on the car I had to keep the gas because if I lowered the revs the engine would die (which is what happened after 5 minutes after I tried to let go of the gas) and at low revs the car vibrated quite a bit. Thanks again

Hm. Is this the ECU that came with the car? Or was it swapped at some point?
And the 5-speed manual configuration from ehich thr new engine is, in your country comes with the 4-port or the 6-port engine?

The computer we kept was from the automatic engine that came with the car. The engine was a 4 port just like the old one so it physically fit correctly. That's what we don't understand, if we kept the same cabling from the old engine, why is it giving us connection lost? Where should we start looking first? What is the Engine Control Module anyways? And what is the Transmission Control Module? What does it look like
