Pics of the undercarriage of the Rx8 im buying, give some opinions

This is the undercarriage of my 05 Shinka 6speed. It has 107k and NO MODS WHAT SO EVER. When it was last started she fires up and idles for 20min but.... dies when at Temp. I believe I need to cut my cat out. Any other spots you notice or if you wanna give opinion would be appreciated. It sat for 2 years thats when I started the journey of RESEARCH! Of this vehicle.

That’s not too bad, just the exhaust is rusty. The oxidation on the trans is from not being driven. Once it gets warm a few times that should fix itself. It would be good to get under there with a wire wheel on a cordless drill and a can of clear rust killer paint though to keep any rust from getting a foothold.
Congratulations on the 8.

Doesn't look terrible, other than the disconnected exhaust hanger and signs of beaching the frame rail. Oh and the plastic engine undertray is missing, which may lead to overheating at speed. Definitely need that.

You can't tell from the outside if your cat is good or not, need to unbolt it and see inside. Stalling at temp could be many things. Does it restart easily after it stalls?
Is the sale conditional on a passing compression test? You don't want to buy a rotary without knowing its condition, regardless of what the rest of the car is doing.

Does the engine restart after it stalls when at normal operating temperature or do you have to wait until it cools down?
If the engine is stalling at normal operating temperature and is difficult to restart or does not start at all, the first thing to check is compression. You will want to do this with a rotary compression tester and ensure the gas pedal is fully depressed when performing the compression test.

My most recent endeavour with my car I made probably the biggest mistake possible when running wires to my firewall and I cut through 5 wires and my electrical system has been on the frets ever since it started with accelerator pedal sensor E Having A short and has escalated since then. I'm currently researching how to replace the entire wiring harness from underneath the - to the fuse Box & ecu the main wiring from under the dash. My shinka looks terrible with wires spliced that I'm clueless to. I know it's a thicker green wire I digress but the rust bucket rx8 i bought has an perfect looking wiring under the dash I wanna swap them

The big thing I would be looking at is the jack points and along the pinch welds of the rocker panels. I live in new england and endeavored to buy two rx8s for under $3000 both of them had similar rust issues. Starts to get scary when the part you normally lift the car with starts to develop holes near it. I plan on doing rust repair after this winter and potentially welding in a bar behind the pinch welds.
