Post P2138 error code (throttle position sensor)

Not sure if this is the correct place but its the only place it lets me post.Car (70.000 km) goes limp mode not past 2000 rpm limiting accelerator pedal input. Went to workshop they removed the error code and car was good. Couple of hours later the same problem. Removing the battery poles seems to reset it but the CEL and limp mode show up every time What I've tried so far:
  • Cleaning throttle body.
  • Cleaning the air filter along with MAF sensor .
  • Removing and putting some contact cleaner in the accelerator pedal sensor.
Workshop suggests I get a new OMP which i did and the code and problem did not disappear. At this point I am going to get both an accelerator pedal and throttle body to see if that fixes it but if anyone had a similar problem and fix let me know

Depending on how the shop is reading the codes, they may not be able to see OMP codes. Not all readers know those rx8 specific codes.

But, nothing in this code indicates OMP issues so not sure where the shop was going with that. The code is for failure of the pedal position sensors, it's a redundant system and 1 of the sensors has failed or is poorly connected. If jiggling and tightening the electrical connections to the gas pedal doesn't fix it, might need to replace the pedal.

I got this problem for about 50 days, until two weeks ago i tried jiggling around the gas pedal and that would fix the problem for maybe 10 days then again for 1-3 days until it does not do it at all so maybe thats the case. As I was gonna order the gas pedal from a shop from a different area than mine from a well known shop that fixes rx8s they told me that its not the pedal and its the omp because thats their most common fix for that since neither the repairshop here and that guy from the different area had evert seen a failed gas pedal. So fingers crossed and lets hope its the pedal
