I just got my OMP adapter in the mail today and I'm wondering if it's alright if I cut my own gasket out of slightly thicker material rather than use the paper one it comes with? As it is, the paper gasket isn't in the best shape, very folded around the edges and with several creases, and I'd hate to get it installed and have a leak due to that.

 

just use a bit of RTV and you will have no problems
