Not off to a great start

Hi guys,

I hate to start my first post on this forum griping, but I am a little irritated. Rather than bother anyone with my questions, I have been searching and finding my own answers for a month or so since I got an rx8. Now I finally have given up and need some actual advice, and I find out I have to wait 30 days.

I understand the reasoning here, but this seems like a self-defeating rule to me, as those like myself who don't post stupid questions until they have an actual problem are the ones who get screwed by this rule. I have been a little surprised to see so many rude people posting their questions in others' threads, now I know why.

FWIW, I have been a member on the rx7club for 12 years and I think it is fair to say I have added some value there. Its been a while since 2002 but I don't remember a lot of silly rules back then when I joined that forum.

Anyway, thank you all for the info I have gotten so far. I wish I had signed up a month ago, but I didn't, and after buying an rx8, rebuilding engine and transmission, and still having stupid problems, and running out of things to search for and try, I don't know whether I will still be here in 30 days or not.

The new member section is specifically for you to ask questions here, rather than elsewhere in the forum, because new owners are most likely to ask repeating questions, questions that if you post them elsewhere can draw a significant level of hostile responses from people that don't have any tolerance to answering the same questions over and over again. The restriction is also only on creating new threads, not posting in existing ones.

Trust me, the forum has been significantly better since the new member restriction was implemented. Just ask your question here

FWIW, the RX7Club's new member restrictions are FAR worse than here, probably implemented after you were a newbie over there.

So...what issues are you seeing?

Well, what's your question. The reason for this is because 99% of new members sign up and immediately ask very common questions that the general membership got sick of answering repeatedly.
