no start compression test
no start compression test
Hello all. i have checked everything and still get a crank but no start. I have a compression tester but i cant use it until car warms up,. any suggestions. im changing the starter to a faster one today. but im stumped if it wont start because of bad compression ill never know as i cant use the rotary tester. 2005 rx8 91k miles a/t
you can do a compression test when the engine is cold, the numbers will just be a bit higher than when the engine is hot and things expand a bit. test it and return with the results and we can go from there.
You should be able to use a traditional compression tester to see if you have really bad compression (blown engine) without starting.
If you have an old battery or unknown age, a new one might help.
The batteries have to be at 100% to start a Renny with any issues at all.
I've had the parts store tell me my battery was good, but having plenty of experience and insisting on a new battery, it's fixed my issue at least 3 times.
I'm not saying it's the problem, but if you think it could be, it might be worth it.
