Hello everyone!

I just bought a 2009 Rx-8 Grand Touring with 65k. I'm in love with the car. Has minor cosmetic things that I need to fix but did a compression test and a mazda inspection and the cat was in excellent conditions according to Mazda.

When I got the car it only came with one key. I began wondering, is it possible to have one of the 2013 n up key fobs used in the 09 model with the credit card key?

Thoughts?

 

I doubt it. The Advanced keyless system is pretty complicated and model specific. You can always just get another key card.

 

If you find a realistic alternative I would love to know! I love/hate the AKE. When it works it's great but the keys are fragile and expensive.

 

This is the system I have for my 04'. Not sure if it can be installed on a car with the AKE though.
