New!! S1 2007 rx8 headlights are sh#t
Hello everyone so I got a rx8 after everyone saying no. Perfect car however I'm in Scotland and it's always dark and **** weather so the nights draw in early and the worst part about this car is the flecking headlights.
there s1 non hid lights and I've tried the good Philips h7s utter chap now I'm running leds but there just bad.
So please what can i do.
Can i swap the projector out for hid ones and then get a conversion kits.
can I just put hid conversion kit in
I know there is a difference inside the projector it's self from hid to halogen so I dono.
I can't find aftermarket,cant fid a answer surely someone has a idea.
the full beam are leds and there like foot ball stadium lights there OK but the dip is almost dangerous to drive with. I tend to use my fogs on aswell but thats not a long term solution.
please help with helpfully advice.

I would find original equipment HID lights, ballasts everything and swap that in. Can't imagine it needs changes upstream from the ballast..
Playing with mix of aftermarket parts rarely ends well.

You can use this tutorial as a guide. It's for an S2, but the procedure should be generally the same as an S1.

Wiring shouldn't be too bad since you only have to worry about the low beams. I would also make sure the headlight lenses aren't fogged. They tend to do that over time.

soon hard to get this parts tho it's turned into getting hens teeth for anything for the rx8 sadly it's a old car now
With any luck, you might even be able to swap in the whole HID headlight assembly into your 8 with fairly minimal rewiring. Unless you have DRL and it runs of the low beams(really uncommon, but I had a 05 Mazda3 hatchback that did that so I am not ruling it out), I think you just have to figure something out for the low beams and the rest should be plug and play(though you won't have the headlight leveling features).
The headlights on the Mazda3 hatchbacks are fine with good halogen bulbs, BTW. Not nearly as good as the HID in my Speed3 now, but they worked fine. Make sure they are properly leveled and polish them if they are foggy.

I would think they have junkyards in the UK as well? We have a site called car-part.com that pulls up junkyard car parts in North America for us.
